PATERSON District

PATERSON District Magazine

"Once a Ghost… Always a Ghost."

For generations at Eastside High School in Paterson, New Jersey, this motto has bound together students, staff, and administrators with a shared sense of pride. Now, that timeless spirit is breaking out of the classroom walls and taking over newsstands across the city.

My Ward is My Runway

Welcome to PATERSON District, an explosive, high-energy, digital youth fashion & lifestyle magazine with a graphic novel twist that celebrates the rich pulse of Paterson—its style, culture, beauty, leisure, art, and people—created with a new, exciting digital graphic novel mix.

Beyond the School Walls

Driven by the visionary leadership of Mr. Brian Sledge, Teacher of Graphic Design at Eastside High School, PATERSON DISTRICT magazine is reimagining post-high school education. The digital publication empowers recent and past grads, seasoned alumni, and Paterson art teachers to channel their creative talents into a professional, publicly available magazine for today's youth. Art teachers across Paterson are invited to submit their work—whether drawings, photography, music files, poetry, or any other artistic medium—to be featured.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at patersondistrictmag@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Do I have to be an Eastside HS graduate, alumnus, or Paterson art teacher to contribute?

Not at all! The heart of PATERSON DISTRICT Magazine is the young adult community of Paterson. While recent grads, alumni, and local art teachers formed our immediate inner circle at launch, we welcome creative contributions from the broader Paterson community as the publication grows.

Is there any money or subscriptions involved?

Not at this time! While we can't predict where the future takes us, our goal—governed by the nonprofit organization CHAPTER Marketing—is to keep PATERSON DISTRICT Magazine a free digital publication. Our team is made up entirely of dedicated volunteers passionate about showcasing the style, swagger, and talent of Paterson's young adults, alongside the vibrant culture, beauty, businesses, and people of our city.

How do I submit my work?
